Hong Kong Day 5

Cheung Chau Island was the plan on day 5!

Was searching for good places for food and I came across this Thai restaurant called Greyhound cafe inside IFC mall. This place has a pretty good rating so we decided to give it a try since we have to catch the ferry to Cheung Chau from the central pier in front of IFC mall.

You might ask why do we even thought of having Thai food when we were actually in HK. but this Thai restaurant is no joke! All the waiters are wearing suit and tie of course other than that the food was pretty good! Had many good thai food in Melbourne too and this one here is one of the best!
See! That's a waiter behind Mr.Dar. Professional much?
Again, Iced lemon tea! It is Iced lemon tea Iced cubes plus Iced lemon tea, you get me?? lol...That is one good Iced Lemon Tea right there! =p

Phad Thai and Miss Saigon that taste good too! Love the Phad Thai definitely best so far!

Ferries depart from Central pier 5 in front of IFC mall. We bought the ordinary ferry fare for HK$16.80, with large triple deck that can occupy between 1200 to 1700 people which takes around 50 minutes to reach Cheung Chau.
Not sure if you have heard a Hk drama called Slow Boat Home, it was filmed in Cheung Chau.

It is famous for its Bun Festival, but apart from that, you can find lots of eateries like their local curry fish balls, seafood etc.

Cheung Chau promenade.
Every stall you will see people queuing up for their local specialties like fish balls etc.

Look at those HUGE balls dip in different sauces~~ OH so yum!
It costs HK$5 for 2 fish balls if I'm not wrong! Yes only 2 on a stick. So we bought 2 sticks with spicy and plum flavour.

It was so damn good I missed it so much! T___T  They are so tender and so flavourful~

Tried their grilled squid as well. Taste was good too!

Never a fan of fried Ice cream but I have to try this because Fala Chen is inside the poster! LOL...she is one of my favourite Hk actress btw ^^
Glad that I did try it! It ain't just a normal fried ice cream we have in Kch! This is freaking good! It's actually a fried hot mochi coating together with the cold ice cream! What a fantastic idea.

Shouldn't have had lunch before that, we were actually too full to try out everything here!

Well we went for a short walk at Cheung Chau Tung Wan beach after our food hunting session.

There are actually many more things to do/see in Cheung Chau but we have too little time  to explore that day as we departed late in the afternoon.

It's dessert time again! Came to this famous dessert place on the island called 允升甜品.
Fresh mango mochi and mango 'Fen Chang' made to order.
Ordered 3 different mango dessert although we were quite full still. The must have mango roll 芒果腸粉, mango mochi 芒果糯米糍 and mango sago!

Definitely worth a visit for all mango lovers out there! =)

Before leaving the island, I can't help but to buy more curry fish balls to bring back to the hotel for supper! LOL...
Tried a different stall this time and I decided to go with the one because of the actors in the poster hahaha...
Forgot what flavours I got but they were not as good as the stall we first tried. Got cheated! SO I BOUGHT MORE FROM THE FIRST STALL AGAIN!!! I know I'm crazy! =p

Leaving Cheung Chau with a happy tummy! =)

Took ferry back to Hk city and we went for a walk at the Ladies Market in Mong Kok. Nothing much just like Chi Cheong Kai, Chinatown in KL.

It was pretty fun seeing the sellers trying to force the customers to buy their stuffs tho! And there was a lady seller trying to get money out of a customer's wallet asking him to buy LOL

Went to Kam Wah cafe wanted to try their famous Polo Bun and egg tarts but they were all sold out! =(((
So we ordered a french toast and a fried rice instead! French toast was pretty good but the fried rice sucks! =(

Lastly, dessert of the day will be this beautiful Green Tea Molten cake at Next Station Dessert.

Adress: G/F., 13 Hak Po Street, Mong Kok. Just type the address in your google map and you will get there! ;)
Was super excited to try out this and it lived up to my expectations! *two thumbs up!

Can't believe how much we actually eat throughout the day! Pretty scary right? =p

All the hard work on planning and researching for this trip was so worth it! =) Thanks to all the people who share their posts on the internet as well~

Cheers~
