Top 5 breakfast place in Melbourne

WARNING! Do hold your saliva because I am going to share a post on my personal Top 5 favourite breakfast place in Melbourne.

Australian breakfast is my all time favourite! Mr.Dar doesn't fancy Australian breakfast plus they are all very expensive. But we made a deal to have breakfast every once a week! =) Fair enough?

Trust me I can spend hours searching for good breakfast places in Melbourne, and of course the good ones with good rating. And believe me, one day Instagram will be totally responsible for all those extra kilos on my hips. It has far too many inspiration, especially when it comes to foodies.

Been to so many and all are so far up to my expectations. They not only look good on the presentation but taste good too!

Good food, good coffee and nice ambience.

Sir Charles
Visited this place twice because we simply love the food and the ambience there! It was located at Brunswick street and Johnston street in Fitzroy.

Address: 3065, 121 Johnston Street, Fitzroy VIC 3065

Take Tram Route 11 to West Preston from the city and get down at stop 16.
Always start my day with a cup of Mocha~

Had their dinner menu on our first visit!
Salt and pepper squid with chilli vinegar as our starter $12
Mee Goreng with house satay, tofu and vege $18.5

Sticky pork belly with apple & herb salad, green nam jim $21.50  *Thumbs up for this dish! =)

Pan Fried duck breast with plum sauce, pickled watermelon and lychee salad $23.50

2nd visit was in the morning!
BBQ Pork with tonkatsu sauce, spring onion & fried egg on crispy roti $17
Sir Charles Benedict with panko crumbed eggs, Sriracha hollandaise & bacon on roti $18 *Another amazing dish that I would recommend!

Service was spot on and the coffee to die for.

Top Paddock
A very popular cafe in Richmond which you may need to wait for a table. It has a very modern setting to it, with the wide open space and large windows allowing for plenty of natural light to enter. Love the dining environment there!

Address: 658, Church st, Richmond
Opening hours:
mon-fri : 7am - 4pm
sat-sun : 8am - 4pm

From city, take train from Flinders station to Richmond station, then take tram 70 outside Richmond station to Church st then change to tram 78 down Church street. The shop is just next to the tram stop. Sound complicated but actually it was easy to spot on! Follow your google map! =)
Chilli scrambled eggs with local seasonal mushrooms and feta on toast $17.5

Frech Queensland soft shell mud crab roll with a fennel & dill salad & lime mayonnaise in a brioche bun $21

and here goes their most popular item on the menu......
Blueberry and ricotta hotcakes with berries, organic maple, seeds and double cream $18
*Pancake to die for! It's too beautiful to dig in!

Just know that they’re big, really big. So make sure you order to share. =)

Hammer and Tong
This place is famous for its soft shell crab burger! Been here many times but I never ordered their burger before. I had a few bite tho it was really good! SMALL but delicious~

Address: Rear 412 Brunswick St, Fitzroy VIC 3065

Opening Hours:

Sun & Mon: 7:00am-4:00pm, Tues - Sat: 7:00am-11pm

Tram 11 will take you there.

Soft shell crab burger $16

What's so great about this burger? The pillowy soft brioche bun is delightfully sweet that makes the bread just so good. Plus the crab itself it's heaven! Brought mum and uncle Jojo here once and glad that they liked it here! =)

Corn and Zucchini fritters $17

If there is to be a weak dish that I've tried there, the corn fritters would have to be it. It doesn't taste as good or let's put it this way, I've tried better corn fritters somewhere else. The fritters itself is too dry to my liking.

The fisherman pot. This is no more in their menu but I just have to share this! The pie right there was just too good!

Breakfast Ramen with 62 degree hens egg, bacon, mushroom, spring onion with bacon dashi $15

The is not the ordinary ramen we have in the Japanese shop. It comes served with the broth in a separate bowl you can add to the mix. Pretty and tasty.

The brilliant dishes keep on coming, with the next one more like a piece of artwork than food!
Just look at how pretty this Lavender Custard Yoghurt is? So much fruits in a plate but you just won't get tired of it. It's never too creamy and too sweet. A very healthy breakfast indeed!

Breakfast Thieves
Another great breakfast spot in Fitzroy with superb interior and atmosphere! As soon as you see the plates you want to grab your phone and take pictures of your food. Yes, everything is that pretty. But let me tell you they does not only do pretty, what finally comes on the plates is mouth-watering heavenly delicious.

Address: 420 Gore st, Fitzroy, Vic 3065

mon-fri : 7.30am - 4pm
sat-sun : 8am - 4pm

Take Tram Route 86 via smith street from the city and get down at stop 21. Then let you google map to guide you from there =p
Botak Chin Burger
Robinhood
The Legend $19
Leprechaun - Crisp fried sweet corn fritters on puree of chipotle & grilled corn, pickled beetroot, yuzu-avocado mousse & poached eggs $19

I actually ate here twice and I had Leprechaun both times! It's funnel puree was seasoned well and everything just seemed to complement each other perfectly, HEAVEN! =) look at those cute little avocado smash =p

If I were to judge I think this little piece of heaven would kick butt! =p

Second visit here was with cousins =) Can't wait for the next visit!

Phew, finally done writing this post!

And no, I did not enjoy writing this blog post. Definitely not. It was pure torture having to look at these photos. They are so mouth-watering that it was hard not to get hungry just by looking at them.

Do visit at least one if you get the chance to visit Melbourne.

More to come!

Cheers~
